debsums software package provides tool for verification of installed package files against MD5 checksums, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install debsums
debsums is installed in your system.
Make ensure the debsums package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep debsums *
You will get with debsums package name, version, architecture and description in a table
